HTC lineup for 2009 revealed January 13, 2009 [General] | By Edward J. R. While in the past (couple years ago) certain former Windows Mobile MVP and a lawyer in one person, has extorted from us over 1000 euro of "lawyer fees" for us agreeing to remove similar lineup - on behalf of HTC and proven by a fax from HTC Taiwan - these days people are publishing information about upcoming phones without problems - obviously HTC got wiser than to employ vile nasty self-righteous lawyers... Also Microsoft got wiser and that MVP no longer has this status. Recently a bigger leak about future HTC phones has been sighted at the Internet and it apparently contains such upcoming HTC phones as (code names, some of them might be not Windows Mobile but Google Android powered): Iolite, Rhodium, Twin, Maple, Topaz, Barium, Tungsten, Rhodium, Willow W, Cedar W, Beryl, Firestone, Whitestone W, Thoth, Magnet, Saphhire, Sapphire 1.5 and Jasper C. While it is plenty of new models, the diversity of form factors is not that big. Unfortunately HTC is still not releasing a HTC phone in form factor "touchscreen + QWERTY keyboard for single-handed usage" - most likely because HTC is manufacturing phones in this form factor for Palm. While this leak consists mainly of a number of photos watermarked by Chinese website diypda.com, one can find good overview of various upcoming models from this leak here: HTC 2009 lineup. It is worth mentioning, that the rumor has it that Palm Pre - new multi-touch phone from Palm - is manufactured by HTC. Furthermore HTC's phone powered by Google Android - T-Mobile G1 - in reality supports multi-touch in hardware (display) but obviously multi-touch is not supported in Google Android operating system yet. In other words: HTC already now has technology to release a multi-touch Windows Mobile phone and one of the phones from this lineup might have multi-touch already.
