Missing in action for Mobile World Congress 2009 February 09, 2009 [General] | By Edward J. R. We have some bad news to report... msmobiles.com was present at Mobile World Congress for many many years, also when it was called "3GSM Congress" and also when it was located in Cannes, France and not Barcelona, Spain, as it is now. Unfortunately this year we will not be present at Mobile World Congress! The reason is pretty much pathetic: our reporter, merely 7 days before the event, has lost his passport. Despite the fact that all hotels are booked and paid, despite the fact that all flights are booked and paid, despite the fact that one-on-one interviews with Microsoft and HTC were scheduled, unfortunately we will not be able to bring first-hand reports from Mobile World Congress 2009. This year, for the first time since several years, CEO of Microsoft (i.e. Steve Ballmer) will be present at Mobile World Congress, and he will be even present in the Microsoft press conference on February 16, when Micrsosoft will be unveiling: Windows Mobile 6.5, Windows Mobile app store, Windows Mobile services based on cloud computing technologies. In other words: this year there will be much more announcements related to Windows Mobile, including several new phones, so clearly Mobile World Congress 2009 is a conference worth visting for sure! Fortunately some other Windows Mobile -focused websites are visiting Mobile World Congress 2009 and if you need first-hand reports about Windows Mobile, please visit: We apologize for the inconvenience.
