Which phones will be upgradeable to Windows Mobile 6.5 ? March 15, 2009 [General] | By Edward J. R. Around September 2009, first phones with Windows Mobile 6.5 will go on sale. However several people want to purchase Windows Mobile phone already now, or in next few weeks, but they would like to be sure, that phones, which they will purchase will be upgradeable to Windows Mobile 6.5 ... so we have decided to revive our database of Microsoft mobility and ... ... and we have decided to maintain a list of Windows Mobile phones, that 100% will get official (!) upgrade to Windows Mobile 6.5, because manufacturers of these phones have promised it publicly. Note: obviously various websites will be offering unofficial ROM upgrades to Windows Mobile 6.5, but we wouldn't recommend them as they can damage your phone, you might lose warranty, and you might be not able to upgrade your phone with official ROM upgrades that fix some issues. While it may seem strange that some contemporary phones, albeit very powerful, will not get upgrades to Windows Mobile 6.5, it is simply how it is: manufacturers will prefer customers to purchase new phones, rather than upgrade old ones. Unfortunately it is the state of matters in Windows Mobile world and we can't do anything.
