Microsoft - the iPhone software development company - releases yet another app for iPhone May 18, 2009 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R. It's getting beyond the joke now. It really is. Microsoft did it again: releasing mobile app for iPhone without releasing Windows Mobile version! What is this? Microsoft is not only releasing certain app for iPhone only, claiming that Windows Mobile has too weak graphics power for that app, but now Microsoft is releasing also an app for iPhone, that requires no graphics power at all (but is not releasing Windows Mobile version at all):
More info about this disgrace: So what is going on? Federated Media company got big project from Microsoft, all-paid by Microsoft: ExecTweets - a project which is a website, that aggregates tweets from various executives, and makes it possible to post tweets from web interface, and now also an app for iPhone: ExecTweets, created by Federated Media in partnership with Microsoft, is your go-to iPhone application and website for finding and following the top business execs on Twitter. As featured in BusinessWeek, Forbes, The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times, ExecTweets is a platform that aggregates the tweets from top business execs and empowers the community to surface the most insightful, business-related tweets. The ExecTweets iPhone application offers on-the-go mobile access to the ExecTweets feed. Now you too can join in the conversation with the world’s leading business executives. Commentary: heart-wrenching stuff for Windows Mobile fans! Yes, we understand well what "coopetition" is (it's "cooperative competition"! yes, we know how to use Wikipedia too) but this what Microsoft is doing is not "coopetition" but shooting itself in the foot: releasing apps for iPhone without releasing them for Windows Mobile at all (not to mention giving priority to Windows Mobile). Oh my! If Microsoft itself is not taking their own platform seriously, then why end users should? Note: you can follow us through Twitter too: to get all latest news and updates about Windows Mobile just go to twitter.com/msmobiles and click on "Follow" button. We promise to follow you back in return!
