Microsoft discriminates against developers: Windows Marketplace for Mobile not for all countries
May 21, 2009 [General] | By Edward J. R.

This is outrageous! Neither Apple app store, nor Android Market, nor BlackBerry market, have been discriminating against developers so much as Microsoft is!

So what is the problem? Microsoft writes:

Market Availability : at this point, registration is open to English language markets (en-*) in the following countries: US, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Singapore and India. Please stay tuned as we enable registration in other markets over the next few months.

Commentary: some of the most productive Windows Mobile developers come from non-English speaking countries. Example: Spb that comes from Russia. To discriminate against developers so blatantly means that many developers will turn to iPhone and Android.
