HTC event in London 2009, final thoughts, last videos
June 26, 2009 [General] | By Edward J. R.

We have just published the last batch of videos and this is our last post about this HTC event.

Since these videos are mostly about Google Android, not Windows Mobile, we have published them at an allied site, not here, and here they are: Conclusion: this HTC event, that took place in Tramshed Studios in London, opposite the Rivington restaurant (that by the way offers fantastic English breakfast) in Hoxton city district, was a very good event, that marks huge breakthrough for HTC. Why breakthrough? Because for the first time HTC is revealing multitouch in their phones! Now we only hope, that this experience will help HTC to bring multitouch also to Windows Mobile phones...

While it is challenging for us to cover HTC these days as we are fully focused on Windows Mobile and we are not interested in Google Android stuff, clearly we must continue covering HTC as their Google Android developments will help also Windows Mobile phones made by HTC (we have no plans to extend our coverage to Google Android phones though). Apart from the first multitouch phone - HTC Hero, HTC has presented also HTC Sense, that goes beyond HTC TouchFLO and might be available in future also for Windows Mobile. It is worth noting, that while HTC is developing a lot of software too, we don't think that HTC will ever abandon Windows Mobile or Android: thanks to having these operating systems, HTC is ensuring, that large libraries of third party apps are also available for their phones. We believe that offering non-standard operating systems like Palm webOS and Nokia Symbian is not good for end users and we believe that manufacturers of smartphones should use only Windows Mobile and Google Android. Clearly HTC paves the way for other smartphone manufacturers and by being incredibly brave and innovative - as multitouch introduction proves it - they have bright future. Note: apart from HTC Sense being ported to Windows Mobile, we also hope that very close cooperation of HTC with Adobe in area of Flash (full Flash will be available in HTC Hero, including multitouch support), will also benefit Windows Mobile phones from HTC...
