Windows Mobile powered Toshiba TG01 coming also to O2 UK July 01, 2009 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R. Both O2 Germany and O2 UK are owned by Spanish company Telefonica, so no wonder that after Toshiba TG01 went on sale in Germany last month, it will be available also at British O2 - O2!
When? Apparently on July 9, 2009 - i.e. next week! - there will be a launch event in UK where Toshiba (and O2?) will launch this phone! More info about this phone from O2 Germany: The Toshiba TG01 comes along with more than one superlative. In addition to the big 4.1 inch display (10.4 cm), the 1 GHz processor of the device is the most powerful processor currently available in all smart phones. Toshiba based the development of the display on the company's experience in LCD TV. The result: pin sharp pictures in brilliant colours. The special clou: The smart phone is based on Windows Mobile and can be controlled by gestures. Users, for example, answer calls by shaking the mobile phone. And, they are able to navigate between open applications by tilting the phone to the right or the left. To learn more, visit original source of this story about Toshiba TG01 coming to UK - that claims that Toshiba has confirmed it to them. Note: we don't think that Toshiba TG01 is too big and its 4.1 inch display is indeed fantastic, not to mention the fact that it is the first phone with 1GHz processor and it will be also officially upgradeable to Windows Mobile 6.5. However we are disappointed that it doesn't have 3.5 mm stereo miniplug...
