Microsoft sacrifices Windows Mobile to fortify itself in enterprise software August 12, 2009 [General] | By Edward J. R. We still cannot fathom how Nokia's representative during this event could use a phrase "market leading user experience" about Nokia smartphones! This is a lie. User experience in Nokia smartphones is one of the worst in the industry. So, anywho, Microsoft will now be making FOR FREE Office Mobile, Office Communicator and some other software for Nokia smartphones powered by Symbian. Nokia in return will agree to put that FREE software from Microsoft into some of their smartphones. Good for Nokia? Yes. Good for Microsoft? Well, it depends: it's good for Microsoft's enterprise software divisions, but bad for Windows Mobile. Now Windows Mobile has no unique selling points anymore. Nothing, nada, zilch... Clearly Microsoft is so scared of Google, that it will make everything to prevent Google from taking away enterprise market from Microsoft. Our prediction: Microsoft will also release Office Mobile for iPhone. To learn more, visit related story from Microsoft about cooperation with Nokia.
