HTC will build 3G cell phones with use of hardware platforms from Ericsson

The agreement between HTC and Ericsson will enable HTC to create a complete wireless device portfolio across the major technologies EDGE and WCDMA. [...] As one of the most respected Windows CE-based device ODMs (original design manufacturers), HTC is bringing on board their vast experience from development of PDAs. HTC is also the first company to launch wireless Pocket PCs and Smartphone based on Microsoft OS.
Please note: it is still unclear what software HTC intends to use in this 3G hardware platforms! Sony Ericsson itself uses Symbian and proprietary systems for these purposes...
