Acer launched mobile.acer.com - a micro-site devoted to their smartphones October 21, 2009 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R. Currently this site covers Acer neoTouch (S200), Acer beTouch E100 and Acer beTouch E200, that all are powered by Windows Mobile 6.5, but Acer already pre-announces there Android-powered Acer Liquid smartphone... Commentary We are not impressed by this site. The "Acer Community" section is not available for browsing for unregistered users. There is no news section devoted specifically to Acer smartpones. There are no RSS feeds. Acer writes generic things that apply to all Windows Mobile phones, like: All Touch series smartphones feature a complete set of productivity applications including Mail, Mobile Internet and Microsoft Office Mobile applications so you can control your entire office and much, much more with a single finger. ... but Acer fails to point out why users should buy specifically Acer phones. One interesting feature is "where to buy" page where users can find stores in their respective country but list of countries there is very short. However ability to find also stores that are brick-and-mortar stores and not only online stores, is very useful. Even though people are complaining that build quality and phone call quality of Acer neoTouch S200 is not the best, it is now sold out at several retailers in UK, because it is very cheap and features super-fast 1GHz Snapdragon processor. Thanks to s200 it looks like Acer smartphones are hot nowadays! ... so it's good to see that at last they have their own micro-site! To learn more, visit mobile.acer.com.
