For Developers: Project Resistence: Source code for iPhone and Windows Mobile port will be available October 28, 2009 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R. We are not sure whether developing in .NET for Windows Mobile is a good idea as everything can be easily decoded (developing in native code does not have this problem), but some MVPs (those who got MVP for software development skills, not a regular Windows Mobile MVPs who are not developers) are busy: they want to release something that shows development process of Windows Mobile apps with .NET and they mean complete process, including submission to Windows Mobile app store (i.e. Windows Marketplace for Mobile): You may already know about "Project Resistence" in which Chris Tacke and Alex Feinman are creating a simple application for the marketplace and documenting its creation from beginning to end. Another Mobile Application Developer MVP (Chris Fairburn) has joined in on the project. He is following along with them and making an iPhone port of the project. Hopefully this will result in something being produced that can show the relative strengths and weaknesses of both platforms (some of which are already visible). More info about "Project Resistence": Project Resistance is intended to be a fully transparent view into the process of conceiving, developing and selling an application for Windows Mobile. The idea here is that anyone will be able to look at how sausage gets made. We're going to start by creating a production-quality application, following best practices for coding, etc. etc. All of the source code will be published, and we will blog about the process, the thoughts we have, and the hurdles we encounter. Once we have the application completed, we're going to go through the process of getting it into the Windows Mobile Marketplace. We've never gone through that process, so it should be educational all around. To learn more, visit: Credit: Joel Johnson from www.j2i.net (over email).
