Windows Mobile 7 will not be announced at Mobile World Congress 2010 in February 2010 October 28, 2009 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R. It looks more and more likely that first Windows Mobile 7 phones will come at the end of 2010, not even in the first half of 2010... Keynote Speakers for 2010 Mobile World Congress has been announced and Microsoft is missing on the list:
The GSMA today announced that the CEOs of the world’s leading communications companies, including Alcatel-Lucent, China Unicom, Ericsson, Google, Huawei, KDDI, Telefónica and Vodafone, will deliver keynote presentations at the 2010 Mobile World Congress, which will be held 15-18 February, 2010 in Barcelona. The GSMA also introduced App Planet, a new “event within an event” focusing on mobile application developers, which will be held at Mobile World Congress. Commentary: it is still possible that Microsoft will announce Windows Mobile 7 at CES 2010 in January, or maybe Microsoft will surprise everybody and announce Windows Mobile 7 at Mobile World Congress 2010 despite not having Microsoft executive as one of keynote speakers - but it all looks more and more unlikely. The Windows Mobile app store aka Windows Marketplace for Mobile is totally screwed and Microsoft takes its time to repair it or maybe they are not even aware how screwed it is... and therefore all that predictions that we will be able to see Windows Mobile 7 phones on sale in Spring 2010 are looking now more and more like lies...
