CDMA Touch Pro2 has been SIM and ROM unlocked October 31, 2009 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R. What, CDMA phone has been SIM-unlocked, but CDMA is not using SIM cards so how it is possible? We are glad that you asked! Here is the answer: You run a program from your computer while your phone is connected to it and it will unlock your phone. If your phone is ROM unlocked, then you can flash custom ROM's, not just stock ROM's from the carrier. If your phone is SIM unlocked, then you can use SIM card's from any GSM carrier. The CDMA version of the HTC Touch Pro2 has is a "world phone", meaning that it has both GSM and CDMA radio chipsets installed. Since it is a CDMA phone, it accesses the CDMA network. However, outside of the country, a SIM card can be installed and used to access the GSM networks. Being SIM unlocked means you can use any SIM card you want, not just carrier approved ones.
