Microsoft demos Windows phone for banking
November 02, 2009 [General] | By Edward J. R.
Microsoft has betrayed Windows Mobile and Windows phone by making a deal with Nokia to make various Office software components for Nokia's Symbian phones, and Microsoft is licensing ActiveSync and Exchange sync components to anybody who pays, so it is unusual that Microsoft corporation outside of mobile division is using Windows Mobile (now renamed to "Windows phone") for anything:
What: During the 2009 BAI Retail Delivery Conference & Expo, Microsoft Corp. will demonstrate its “three screens and a cloud” vision as it applies to banking, showcasing how different channels can be seamlessly tied together, in ways such as these:
- Online — A firsthand look into how today’s banks can integrate intuitive, user-friendly technologies built on Microsoft Silverlight and Windows Presentation Foundation for consumers banking online, creating a highly interactive experience for financial transactions, research and planning.
-
In the branch — An interactive showcase on how banks can use Microsoft Surface in the branch to interact with customers and provide a rich, aggregated view of their entire financial portfolios.
-
Mobile phone — Banks can reach customers even when they’re on the go, through targeted alerts and notifications sent to consumers’ mobile phones via Tellme and Windows phones.
-
In the cloud — Banks can utilize Microsoft’s cloud-based operating system, Windows Azure, to connect the various platforms and devices in a seamless way and scale up or down depending on customer demand.
