Windows Marketplace for Mobile - automatic software updates are working November 21, 2009 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R. What a surprise: Microsoft gets something right! Today, when we started Markteplace client in a Windows phone, then we have noticed that an update for one of the apps is available: Then you have to go to "Update" sub-section in "My Applications" section: Then you have to tap on "Update All" (we couldn't update only one app - that would be too much to demand from Microsoft): Then the app is being installed: ... and once it is updated: ... the number of available updates drops to zero: Commentary: Microsoft's Windows Mobile is so low, it's such a big failure (in comparison to iPhone and Android) that now the only direction is: up. While Microsoft's Windows Mobile app store aka "Marketplace" still has many issues, Microsoft is improving stuff. We only hope that Microsoft realizes that now: smartphone wars = app wars, and it's not only about "smooth animated transitions" that Microsoft is introducing in Windows Mobile 7 next year...
