HTC HD2 review - part 6: apps and mobile broadband speed test December 04, 2009 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R. HTC HD2 is like a very attractive lady that is mentally retarded. The fault however lies totally at Microsoft... Imagine that you would like to drop by to some nearby country for a weekend for entertainment purposes and you would like to get a travel guide about this given destination for your cellphone:
As you can see above there is zero apps for Windows Mobile in "Marketplace" but there are plenty (over 50) for iPhone for given tourist destination. Currently there is 104,000 apps for iPhone in app store and there is less than 500 apps in Marketplace for Windows Mobile. Each day around 400 new apps is being added to iPhone app store, while number of apps in Marketplace for Windows Mobile grows very slowly - due to extreme incompetence of Microsoft employees at Microsoft mobile divisions. So whatever can be screwed up by Microsoft is being screwed up by Microsoft, and HTC seems to be doing everything right hardware-wise (and we are saying it despite not getting free HTC HD2 from them, although some loser websites with page rank lower than ours got it): we have tested data transfer speed over 3G HSDPA cellular network (using Vodafone network) and the results are very impressive:
This part of the review once again confirms: HTC HD2 is a combination of hardware excellence of HTC with total incompetence of Microsoft in area of mobile operating systems. Stay tuned for next parts of our review of HTC HD2!
