Windows Marketplace for Mobile has only 333 apps now - TOTAIL FAILURE continues February 28, 2010 [General] | By Edward J. R. Apple iPhone has now in 170,000 (one hundred seventy thousands) apps in app store, Android has over 20,000 (twenty thousands), but Windows Mobile aka Windows Phone still has less than 1000 (one thousand) apps! Moreover we don't see progress:
We have just counted apps in the Microsoft's own app store, i.e. Windows Marketplace for Mobile, and now, it is only 333, so even less than few months ago:
Conclusion: Windows Mobile app store aka Windows Marketplace for Mobile is a total failure and thanks God there is still side loading so apps can be purchased outside of Microsoft... but with Windows Phone 7 Series there will be no side loading and no native app development (i.e. source code can be easily stolen) so situation might be also bad app-wise. In case Steve Ballmer has doubts who is responsible for this debacle, we are listing here Microsoft employees working on this Marketplace: Loke Uei, Steve Hegenderfer, Luke Nyswonger, Eric Nelson. Total failure.
