Reminder to Windows Phone developers with apps in Marketplace: checkboxes!!! March 09, 2010 [General] | By Edward J. R. So, you have apps in Windows Marketplace for Mobile and you would like to earn more money? Simples! Just follow this instruction: Please go to price setting of given app and set its price to all (!!!) markets in the world:
Recently Microsoft has enabled ability to sell non-translated English-language apps to the whole world, but if you, as a developer, don't set price for all the markets (countries), then these apps are not visible there (even if the user has selected USA market in his/her Marketplace client)! So to earn more money you need to just select all the checkboxes as presented above. Of course Microsoft could do some global setting to check all markets/countries automatically but Microsoft has not implemented it yet (although Google and Apple have such global setting). Finally, if you are an end user interested in some app that is available in USA but not in your local market, please contact given developer via email or Twitter and tell them to select checkboxes as described here! (you can give link to this story if given developer has problems to understand the issue) Credit: Joel from www.j2i.net
