For Microsoft: old users = losers, as no XNA 4 for Zune HD
March 09, 2010 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R.

Microsoft could release Silverlight and XNA for owners of Windows Mobile 6.5 users but no, Microsoft hates those people and these goodies are coming only to Windows Phone 7 Series phones.

Similarly Zune HD owners will not get 3D goodness of XNA 4 game development kit (XNA Game Studio 4.0), even though Zune HD has more than enough power for it:

Development for the Zune and Zune HD will continue to exist in XNA Game Studio 3.1, however, in XNA Game Studio 4.0, we’re encouraging you to migrate your games over to the Windows Phone 7 Series platform.

For more info see XNA Game Studio 4 FAQ and XNA Game Studio 4.- announcement that pretends to be a blog item.

Conclusion: iPhone/iPod Touch users and Android users and Palm users get all the latest features but Microsoft treats old users of its mobile devices once again like SH*T. What guarantee users of Zune HD2 and of Windows Phone 7 Series phones have, that they will not be treated like SH*T by Microsoft too?
