Not only Android lovers get Windows Phone MVP awards, also good people get them... April 02, 2010 [General] | By Edward J. R. We cannot stand the fact that people who on their websites in 50% are promoting Android, in 25% Palm WebOS and only 25% devote to Windows Phone - are getting Windows Phone MVP award. For what? For promoting Android mainly? That's not fair. Fortunately sometimes also good people get MVP award from Microsoft: Joel Ivory Johnson has just received MVP award in the area of "Device Application Development". While he has written for us 3 articles (1, 2, 3), he has helped us in several news items and he participated in 10 our podcasts, he received MVP award not for his contributions here, but for his activities in developer forums of Microsoft, where he gathered 17,000 points and posted thousands times his help related to mobile software development for Microsoft powered devices. He also posted several articles with sample applications for Microsoft mobile devices. See also his profile at Microsoft here and his website: j2i.net. Note: there are 2 kinds of MVP awards from Microsoft: for power users (like the "Windows Phone MVP") and for developers (like the "Device Application Development MVP"). Joel got the one for developers, i.e. the one that requires more technical knowledge. Congratulations, Joel! And let the Windows Phone 7 Series be a profitable pasture for you!
